Our New Nutrition Program Takes Off

Following on from our success in providing de-worming medicine to communities last year, myAgro has recently started providing a nutrition add-on program in Mali. This year, 5 full-time nutrition agents will visit each rural community in which we work, de-worm all of the communities’ children, and provide them with useful information which will help decrease malnutrition.

Ten rural communities have already participated in the de-worming program, resulting in over 2000 children being de-wormed. So far, for each community that we de-worm, about 220 children come with their mothers to receive our medication. In addition to providing this medicine, we also collect information about the children such as their height, weight, age, and their upper arm measurements. This will provide us with valuable information both to help us determine where we should focus future efforts in the nutrition program and to give us solid baseline data.

By the end of April 2015, we hope to reach over 35,000 children!
