Vegetable pilot early harvest success

Hailing from the village of Sanakoro-Djitoumou, 1.5 hours from Bamako, our first year myAgro farmer Chaka Samake has been working hard to harvest Prema onions as part of our new vegetable pilot program.  This is a special rainy season onion that enables farmers to grow onions during the rainy season, which means they go to market during a peak time in onion pricing. After working closely with his field agent, Bakary Tangara to perfect his method of planting using the myAgro seedbed tool, and applying the correct spacing and fertiliser techniques, Chaka has been able to successfully harvest 78kgs of onions.  Although he hasn’t sold them just yet, with the market price being approximately 400CFA/kg (31,000 CFA), Chaka can expect to earn US$62, from his initial investment of his packet which cost $8 (4,500 CFA).
