About myAgro
myAgro is an award-winning social enterprise/non profit in West Africa that uses a mobile technology platform to provide a comprehensive set of services:  (1) Access to fertilizer and seed packages on layaway (2) Technical Training (3) Market Access to premium buyers (4) Access to asset loans for appropriate small-scale farm equipment. Our model doubles farm income and helps farmers move out of poverty. We’ve grown from 1,500 farmers to 3,500 in the last year, and will continue to scale to 75,000 in the next five years. Small-scale farmers across the globe make up 70% of the world’s poor. We want to build a model for savings layaway in Mali and Senegal that can be adopted by other organizations to serve farmers throughout the world. Program Associates
Program Associates are key players in designing a program model to be as efficient and effective as possible. This role requires someone who is dynamic, mission-oriented and ready manage a portfolio of 4-6 projects with a mix of field and office-based projects. The exact mix of projects will depend on our needs at the time as well as your background.

Example project portfolio of past Program Associates:

  • Design a women’s peanut program – work with local agronomists to create an easy-to-understand planting training, develop an enrollment calendar, marketing materials and field agent enrollment guide. Complete field visits to improve materials based on farmer and staff feedback. Track regular program indicators to adjust strategy and calendar as needed.
  • Develop a field agent recruitment process including job description, advertising, interviewing and selection process and develop/lead a set of new field agent trainings. Improve process based on learnings, feedback and observations.
  • Create a leadership pipeline by selecting high-potential field agents, developing a career development plan template and developing/leading trainings to support the field agents’ professional growth.
  • Use sales analysis and customer enrollment data to develop efficient reports for field staff and vendors and develop marketing tools to drive increases in savings payments.

Your exact mix of projects will depend on your background and program needs.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Demonstrated passion about myAgro and our mission.
  • French and English proficiency required
  • At least one year of international living experience, preferably in a developing country
  • At least 2 years work experience in a professional setting
  • Innovative and entrepreneurial nature (ex: previous start-up experience, starting a project at school or through work)
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work cross culturally
  • Strong quantitative skills; proficiency with Excel
  • Ability to work independently and demonstrated resilience in the face of challenges
  • As with any start up, flexibility and a sense of humor make work much more enjoyable

  • Start date: flexible, but ideally immediately
  • This is a 1-2 year contract, with an option to renew, strong performers will be eligible for raises and promotions
